Timbaland and his AI entertainment company, Stage Zero, have unveiled the new music video for a song from their AI-generated artist, Tata.
Entitled “Glitch x Pulse,” the debut track from the “AI-native pop artist” is accompanied by a video directed by Mike Ho. Tata appears alongside Timbaland in the video, and she also dances alongside the Jabbawockeez. The brightly-colored music video features a mix of live-action performers alongside AI-generated visuals, offering a look at what people can expect from Timbaland’s AI venture Stage Zero going forward.
Timbaland co-founded Stage Zero alongside Zayd Portillo and film producer Rocky Mudaliar, the latter of which said that TImbaland was brought on board to “pioneer a new genre of music,” which they’re calling artificial pop.
Earlier this year, Timbaland responded to the backlash about the announcement that he’s pursuing AI content. “I know I’m trolling but let’s have real conversation,” Timbaland wrote in his post. “I love my independent artists. This doesn’t mean I’m not working with real artists anymore. And nah I don’t train ai off y’all music. This just means more creativity for creators.”
