Local artist Kevin Lowery celebrated the launch of his new Gallery & Studio, nestled in the heart of Bundoran on Friday night.
The event was attended by Kevin’s team, his family, friends, followers of his art, and many local guests who came to participate in the festivities marking the debut of this contemporary art space at the Bundoran Retail Park.
The gallery, a first of its kind in the region, is currently exhibiting Kevin’s latest collection of paintings and prints. In addition to showcasing Kevin’s own works, the gallery also features contributions from local artists who share his passion for capturing coastal life. This creates a vibrant mix of artworks, all inspired by and reflective of the surf and diverse coastal landscapes of Northwest Ireland.

Highlights of the evening included some of Kevin’s most recognisable paintings, such as those from his Pebble Series. Guests enjoyed the familiar landscapes depicted in works like Rougey Rock and The Road to Leitrim. Kevin’s inspiration also extends beyond his immediate surroundings, as seen in Mizen Head and the freshly painted Giant’s Causeway.
Also featured were pressed seaweed prints and etchings by Christine Harrison, which explore the diversity of local Irish seaweeds, and celebrated seascape photographs by local photographer Darragh Gorman, capturing the dramatic breaking waves of the nearby sea. In addition to the artworks adorning the walls, the gallery also showcased beautifully crafted sculptures in glass and bronze by artist and craftsperson Jonathan Ball, which masterfully captured the essence of the materials used.
Gallery Manager Shannon Carroll and renowned Easkey Britton giving opening speech
The special guest of the evening was renowned author, Irish surfer and Donegal native, Easkey Britton. Having attended school in Ballyshannon with Kevin, Britton spoke about his long-standing commitment to artistry, his development over the years, and the unifying power of art, especially during turbulent times.
Located at Unit 10, Bundoran Retail Park, the new gallery and studio aims to be a hub for artistic expression in Bundoran. The integrated studio within the gallery space offers visitors a unique behind-the-scenes view of the artist’s creative process and the opportunity to engage with Kevin directly.
