Today, Nigerian artist Oshamo (stylised “oSHAMO”) shared the official video for his song ‘Life of the Party’ from his forthcoming debut. After a good chastising for decreasing the detergent prices and having his head in the clouds at his Yoruba mother’s launderette (or laundromat for the Americans reading) in Rupert Gardens, mommy dearest hesitantly leaves her to look after a customer’s clothes. Instantly, he seems to follow his mother’s wishes, but moments later, Oshamo daydreams again.
A young woman wearing a fluffy brown fur coat enters the launderette to invite him to perform at a party. Not having time to head home and get ready, the ‘Why You Lying’ singer gets dressed at the family business. Next, Oshamo heads to the venue in a Range Rover. There’s one catch, though. He needs to make it home by midnight. Watch the official music video above to see the crowd dance to the Amapiano-variant production.
