WHILE Kamala Harris launches an abrupt bid for the 2024 US presidency, her stepdaughter continues to enjoy the alternative lifestyle of a downtown New York City city artist and model.
Ella Emhoff, the daughter of Harris’ husband’s first marriage, is not holding back with her bold looks or statements just because her stepmom is running for president.
Before marrying Harris, lawyer Douglas Emhoff was involved in a 16-year-long marriage with Kerstin Emhoff.
The duo had Cole, 29, and Ella, 25, before divorcing in 2008.
Six years later, Harris married into the family and took on her husband’s children as her own.
Despite Harris’ political career, Ella has had no problem flaunting around New York City in out-of-the-box outfits.

The heavily tattooed Gen-Zer has been photographed wearing an array of knit clothing along with a not-so-business-casual outfit, pairing a sheer black top with low-rise trousers.
In a photo of the outfit, Ella’s hair is curled to the max with just two tiny barrettes holding back some pieces, and she opted to grow her eyebrows into a unibrow.
“To the @gettyimages photographer who got these pics @proenzaschouler …” she captioned an Instagram picture of the look.
The quirky 25-year-old has turned her love for fashion into both a career and a side project.
After wearing a $5,000 Miu Miu tweed coat to Biden’s 2021 inauguration, the internet couldn’t get enough of the vice president’s stepdaughter.
“[Ella] is so passionate, excited and wants to have fun, take risks and express herself through the clothes she wears,” Ella’s inauguration stylists told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021.
“We were both fashion students, so it’s a great reminder and quite refreshing to see this process through the eyes of someone on the cusp of her career in this business.”
Following her inauguration debut, Ella signed with the IMG Models agency and has walked the runway for high-fashion brands such as Mulberry and Prada.
Since beginning her modeling career, she’s been caught partially topless while strutting the runway during New York Fashion Week.
In September 2022, the model walked the runway wearing a green scarf that covered one breast and revealed the other.
When she’s not modeling, the vice president’s stepdaughter channels her passion for fashion through her own knit club, The Soft Hands Knit Club.
The Soft Hands Knit Club is a subscriber-based knit club. Members pay $60 to access the full club features.
Ella’s Instagram is full of posts about the club and the different knittings she’s made.
Most recently, the influencer posted a reel of her organizing her Brooklyn art studio the day Harris announced she was running for president.
“Some chill organizing before my Sunday turned extremely not chill,” she captioned the reel.
“Thank you for all the messages.”
The knitting enthusiast posted on Sunday in support of her stepmom by reposting a tweet from British pop singer Charli XCX, which read, “Kamala IS brat.”
Ella wrote on her story, “@charlixcx gets it.”
Brat, a term made famous again by Charli XCX, refers to “a girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes,” as the singer puts it.
Harris’ stepdaughter posted again on her Instagram Story on Thursday in support of the vice president.
The model posted a picture of a quote from Ella’s mother Kerstin, on CNN regarding attacks on Harris, calling her “childless.”
“These are baseless attacks. For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I. She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present,” the quote read.
Ella captioned the screenshot with her own thoughts.
“How can you be ‘childless’ when you have cutie pies like Cole and I,” the model wrote.
“I love my three parents.”
