Like our @newburytoday photographer Phil Cannings, many took a stroll in Victoria Park on Sunday, to view the original creative artwork by local artists and makers on display along the railings, as Art on the Park returned for the day.
Good weather contributed to the enjoyment for everyone who visited the open-air exhibition at the northern end of park between 10am and 4pm.
More than 20 stallholders showed a wide range of arts and crafts: watercolour, acrylic, oil and print were well represented, with a breadth of subject matter from animal portraits to rural views and abstract examples.
Decoration was combined with function at a popular ceramic stall; likewise at several stalls with wood-turned items. Textile accessories and jewellery were also well-represented.
There was a steady stream of visitors of all ages and exhibitors said it had been a worthwhile opportunity to show their work and make some sales.
This was the third year for Art on the Park which was revived after a gap of over a decade, and in a new home using the Victoria Park Nursery School railings.
It is organised by representatives from Newbury Art Group, City Arts and Newbury and District Arts Association and is supported by Newbury Town Council.
Newbury mayor Andy Moore spent time talking to exhibitors when he visited during the morning.
