An upcoming local arts event will offer attendees the opportunity to support Marion County cultural programs while taking home a piece of original artwork this week.
The Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) will host its annual “Block pARTy” VIP Drawing Event on Thursday, May 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brick City Center for the Arts, located at 23 SW Broadway St. in Ocala.
The fundraiser serves as the conclusion to the organization’s ongoing exhibition of 12×12-inch artworks created and donated by national, regional, and local artists, students, and local celebrities. Proceeds from the event support MCA’s cultural grants, exhibitions, arts education initiatives, artist opportunities, and year-round programming in Marion County.
During the VIP event, a live drawing will begin at 6 p.m. Ticket holders’ names will be drawn at random, allowing them to select a piece of original 12×12-inch artwork from the gallery in the order they are called.
Ticket holders must be present to claim their artwork. Any remaining blocks will be available for public purchase for $75 each following the conclusion of the drawing.
VIP admission tickets include entry to the drawing, hors d’oeuvres, beverages for guests ages 21 and older, and music by DJ Justin Fortune. Pricing is structured at $50 for one ticket, $90 for two tickets, and $135 for three tickets.
