The official manga adaptation of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games, Pokémon Adventures, will be delayed due to the poor health of the artist.

In a statement released on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Pokémon Adventures will go on a month-long hiatus. Satoshi Yamamoto, the manga artist behind the series, is currently in poor health and will need time to rest and recover. Chapter 8 of the Scarlet and Violet storyline was delayed from its intended March 21 release in CoroCoro Ichiban — a younger-skewing monthly manga magazine that regularly features Pokémon and Doraemon.

He assumed illustration duties since Pokémon Adventures Volume 10, released in Japan on Aug. 8, 2001. Yamamoto has also worked on the official Pokémon Trading Card Game. Outside of Pokémon, Yamamoto has worked as a key animator on Ghost Slayers Ayashi and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
