Launching their new “Chasing the Sun” limited-edition summer collection in their new seersucker fabric designed with Dublin-based artist Claire Prouvost and Fresh Cuts’ Lorna Murphy

The SS24 Collaboration was made using seersucker – a GOTS certified 100% organic cotton in line with the homegrown brand’s values

Whether it’s shopping Irish or achieving a balance between being both stylish and sustainable, Fresh Cuts’ newest collaboration with Claire Prouvost, a French artist and muralist making a big impact on the streets in Dublin, will have you covered this summer. The ‘Chasing the Sun’ collection introduces seersucker as the brand’s newest fabric, the perfect lightweight fabric for summer due to its inherent breathability and airiness. Made from GOTs certified 100% organic and sustainable cotton, the launch is perfect for the rising temperatures as the country begins to settle into the Irish summer.

The new Seersucker line is in keeping with the brand’s overall core mission to put sustainable thinking at the center of everything they do. The husband-and-wife team behind Fresh Cuts only choose fabrics that care for the environment as much as they do, and only partner with factories and designers that care about the impact they make.

The collection consists of a limited 100 pieces of each product in the line and introduces a women’s dress, blouse, and trousers, and a men’s summery short-sleeve shirt to keep cool and stylish throughout the summer. Each item comes in two prints; one created through a collaboration with artist and muralist Claire, and the second thoughtfully designed by the Creative Director and brand co-founder, Lorna Murphy.

These limited-edition pieces showcase Claire’s exceptional design and craftsmanship, with each peace being a testament to her talent and artistic vision, featuring colourful, bold, and minimalistic prints. While her street art captures the attention of passers-by, this new collaboration is sure to fascinate the fashion fiends. Inspired by the complexity of relationships and human interactions, the collection uses deconstructed figures, intuitive lines, and expressive shapes. Claire’s art is brought to life in this collection, celebrating diversity and everyday emotions, complimented by the high-quality designs associated with Fresh Cuts.

Commenting on the new collection, owner and co-founder of Fresh Cuts, Lorna Murphy said, “We’re excited to bring this collection to our customers. It’s more than just fashion; it’s about making a statement and embracing the playful, vibrant essence of summer. Our innovative Seersucker designs, which are the cornerstone of this collection, beautifully amalgamate all the patterns and styles featured throughout the line. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to reflect the exuberance and spontaneity of summer.”

The collection is not just about clothing; it’s about embracing a lifestyle that values creativity, individuality, and the joy of summer. Each piece is designed to be versatile, making it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions.

Lorna added, “As a brand, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact and continuously promoting sustainable practices. With our SS24 collection, which was inspired by Claire’s work with human beings, their emotions, and their relationships, we’ve taken great care to use eco-friendly materials that will last for the owner, without compromising on style or quality.

Born and bred in the heart of Dublin City Centre, Fresh Cuts began selling its original designs and garments in Cow’s Lane Designer Market almost seven years ago.  The idea was to give people an option to choose better but not compromise on style or quality. Customers can also discover an exquisite edit of sustainable and ethical labels from across Europe, carefully sourced by the Fresh Cuts team, which are now available to shop in-store and online.

Speaking about the fashion and art collaboration, Claire Prouvost said, “Fresh Cuts has such a powerful mission, and bringing my work about human emotion, to a brand that cares about the world that we as humans live in sounded like the perfect collaboration to me. I have really enjoyed being part of this collection and I’m so excited to see it being brought to life.”
