Lisa Baptiste’s Paintings for Paws sale saw a host of animal-themed artworks exhibited, with visitors pre-ordering a range of accessories such as bags and mugs sporting her designs.
The event managed to raise an impressive total of £832, of which around 50 per cent will go to NAWT.
Later, she was photographed presenting a cheque, totalling £563.50, to NAWT fundraising officer Josie Hantonne along with Belle, one of the Watford centre’s longest-staying dogs.
The exhibition had a very unique pricing system, with the sale of each painting equalling what the raised amount could buy for the centre.
Ms Baptise has a very personal connection with the rescue centre, as it was where she adopted her cats, Ebbie and Beau.
She said: “I’ve been painting for over twenty years, at the same time running a successful pet care business.
“I’ve been a supporter of the National Animal Welfare Trust ever since we adopted our cats Ebbie and Beau from the centre.
“It was an amazing opportunity for my first solo exhibition and my way of thanking the team at the NAWT”.
