Holy Trinity CofE Primary School pupils were tasked with designing a card to greet new residents at Oakfields Park.
The competition was organised by Bellway Essex, which is constructing homes at the site.
The winning design was created by Year 2 pupil Molly, who was inspired by the house in the animated film “Up”.
Bellway has used Molly’s design to print cards to be posted through the letterboxes of new residents at Oakfields Park, off Tidings Hill.
Molly was invited to the development on January 10 to receive her prize and help deliver some of the welcome cards.
Headteacher Sarah Rowe said: “The children were thrilled to take part in the Bellway Essex art competition that involved designing welcome cards for new residents at Oakfields Park.
“Through this activity, they enjoyed exploring the themes related to moving into a new home.
“The school takes pride in the existing relationships with families in the school community as well as welcoming new residents that come into the Bellway development nearby.”
Emma Hawkins, sales manager for Bellway Essex, added: “We are building a new community at Oakfields Park and thought it would be a nice idea to reach out to the local school to help welcome new residents into the area.
“We were very impressed by the quality of the artwork and the depth of imagination displayed by the children at Holy Trinity CofE Primary School.
“We think the card will bring a smile to the face of everyone who receives it.”
