For the Monaco E-Prix on Saturday 27th April, 2024, Jaguar TCS Racing and Visual Artist Craig Black joined forces to honour some of the unsung heroes of motorsport with an exciting collaboration unveiled at the famous race. In a project aimed at spotlighting the invaluable contribution of the Jaguar TCS Racing mechanics, Craig Black created bespoke “Acrylic Fusion” helmets for each team member, showcasing unique, one of a kind artworks inspired by the team’s premium colour palette of gold, black and white.

Monaco stands as a pinnacle in the motorsport calendar, and the debut of these distinctive helmets in the Jaguar TCS Racing garage highlighted their significance. Designed to bridge the gap between motorsport and lifestyle, the “Acrylic Fusion” texture, conceptualised by Craig Black, was carefully applied to each helmet, reflecting the essence of Jaguar TCS Racing while honouring the dedication of its mechanics.

The unveiling of the helmets served as a poignant tribute to the mechanics, celebrating them as integral assets to the Jaguar TCS Racing team. On race day, Studio Craig Black experienced the famous pit lane, receiving a firsthand insight into the mechanics’ pivotal role in race day operations. From orchestrating lightning-fast pit stops to collaborating closely with drivers and ensuring peak performance of the all-electric race car, the mechanics’ expertise is essential to the team’s success.

Prior to the Monaco E-Prix, Craig Black helped build hype and momentum with an immersive experiential activation, captivating the audience as he live-painted a mechanic’s helmet against the backdrop of the iconic Monaco motorsport circuit.

Craig Black, Visual Artist, shared his sentiments, stating, “Collaborating with Jaguar TCS Racing on this project has been incredibly rewarding. Being able to blend artistry with the world of motorsport was an incredible experience. These helmets symbolise the dedication and craftsmanship of the mechanics, and it’s an honour to have played a part in celebrating their essential role within the team.”
