Domestic bliss: legends in their own living rooms – in pictures | Art and design

Nick Waplington’s first book, Living Room, was published in 1991, and was an instant sensation within the photography world and beyond. ‘This image,’ he says, ‘was made during half-time in an England World Cup match in the 80s outside my grandfather’s house. He was a parts man at a British Leyland garage so people would bring their cars over to have them fixed’ Nick Waplington: Living Room can be seen at Hamiltons Gallery, London, 14 March-25 May.
