A life drawing workshop is set to take place in Kendal this weekend.
The event, designed to help participants develop or refresh their life drawing skills, will be held at Brewery Arts on Saturday, December 6, from 11.30am to 5pm, and is open to anyone aged 16 and over.
A life model will be present, and the session will include practical drawing exercises, tutor demonstrations and group discussions.
Attendees will also be introduced to the work of other artists as part of the experience.
A spokesman for the event said: “This is an opportunity for people of all abilities to develop life drawing skills in an intensive day workshop, and to dispel some of the fear from this valued traditional discipline.”
Participants will need to bring their own materials, including an A2 sketchbook, willow charcoal, a putty rubber and hard rubber, a soft graphite stick or black conte, and masking tape or clips to secure paper to the drawing board.
Drawing boards and easels will be provided.
Tutor Catherine MacDiarmid brings 29 years of teaching experience to the workshop.
She is an established artist who has exhibited at the BP Portrait Award, New Light Art Tour and the Mall Galleries.
Ms MacDiarmid is an elected member of The Lakes Artists Society, the Contemporary British Portrait Painters and appeared in Sky Portrait Artists of the Year 2014, 2018, reaching the semi-finals in 2019.
Tickets are £66 and can be booked at breweryarts.co.uk/event/life-painting-workshop.
