The regeneration project on Stoke Bridge Wharf started last week and will continue over the coming weeks.

Mr Tanswell said: “It’s such a famous landmark in the centre of Ipswich, the idea was put to me to paint the buoy and I love unusual jobs and this is one of them.
“Painting on such a rough surface is tricky, it’s years old and has been in the sea, bobbing around, and has been sitting on this bridge for as long as I can remember so I had to give it multiple layers of paint.”

Works to install seating, planting and heritage information signage has begun too in order to celebrate the historic Waterfront and its heritage.
The revamp will provide a viewing platform for residents and visitors to enjoy the Waterfront area.
