It’s the last few days to see the “89th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft” at the Fitchburg Art Museum. Closing Sunday, Sept. 7, it showcases 91 local artists and span the mediums of painting, photography, sculpture, craft, watercolor, and more.
Also closing Sunday is “Anne Hopkins: Gathered and Seaworthy Vessels.” This exhibition includes artwork from two series, Gathered and Seaworthy Vessels. In both series, Hopkins employs found objects, and using the photo transfer method, applies photos to their surfaces. By combining objects and images, Hopkins creates meaning for the viewer.
The exhibits “Call and Response: Monochrome” and “Tara Sellios: Ask Now the Beasts” close on Sunday, but “Beasts” reopens on Nov. 1.
FAM will close to the public Sept. 8-Oct. 31. During the closure, the Museum will be preparing for the upcoming Centennial celebrations, improving the storage and care of collections, and upgrading the physical plant.
Artwork pickup for the “89th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft” will continue as scheduled: Friday, Sept. 12, 12-4 p.m.; Saturday, Sept 13, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 14, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
