Community Paint Out artists put Cullen in the frame

ARTISTS of all ages and abilities were to be seen in Cullen recently when the annual Community Paint Out took place.

Easels were set up in and around the town on Saturday, June 22 for the fun event, where the emphasis was enjoying taking part rather than winning prizes.

Run by Cullen Art Group, around 18 people in all turned out to try their hand at capturing various scenes, with some returning from last year.

Most decided to concentrate their efforts around the harbour area or further along towards Cullen Sea School.

During what was a lovely, warm day Wendy Hay, who has a BA in Fine Art and teaches Art at Speyside High School, and John Rose, an experienced member of the art group, circulated among the participants to offer hints, tips and advice where requested.

By 3pm it was time to pack up and head up to the community centre to hand in the paintings and have a refreshing cuppa.

All of the paintings will be on show at Cullen Art Group’s exhibition set to be held over August 2-4 in the community centre.
