TikTok and DistroKid announced today an innovative platform integration that makes it easier and faster than ever before for independent artists to create their official TikTok Artist Accounts, unlocking a suite of artist-specific features to help them engage their fans on the world’s most powerful music discovery platform.

The new partnership will dramatically reduce the time it takes for artists to create their official TikTok Artist Account, which can now be achieved in as little as a few hours for DistroKid members.

Starting today, DistroKid members can create their official TikTok Artist Accounts directly from the DistroKid dashboard, unlocking artist-first features like a Music Tab, New Releases, By Artist, Behind the Song, Fan Spotlight, Ticketing and more. This collaboration aims to build a stronger connection between DistroKid’s artist community and TikTok’s global community of music fans.

DistroKid and TikTok have worked closely together since 2019 when DistroKid signed on as the first distributor to help independent artists get their music uploaded to TikTok. DistroKid members have also recently found success on TikTok via a deal struck that made their music available via TikTok’s Commercial Music Library (“CML”). The CML offers brands a catalog of pre-cleared music for use in their advertising on TikTok. Last year the two companies announced a deal which made millions of tracks by DistroKid members available on TikTok Music, the short-form mobile video platform’s new premium subscription streaming service for music that is now in beta in five countries. DistroKid members also have their music available in ByteDance’s popular video editing software tool CapCut and have the ability to distribute their full-length music videos to TikTok via the company’s DistroVid tool.
