An artist has launched a worldwide embroidery project to create a replica of the Bayeux Tapestry.
Mia Hansson, 51, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, has been creating a linen replica of the French tapestry since 2016 and has appealed for others to contribute an embroidery to a one metre square of material that will be posted around the world.
The parcel is due to visit 50 artists across three continents and includes a handmade glove puppet called Stella.
“Everywhere that Stella stops, she will invite her host to add something to her piece of art,” she said.
