On this week’s episode of Out and About, Dr. Mae Gilliland Wright of ArtsPartners of Central Illinois talks with local artist Valencia Davis about the opening of V’s Visions, her new studio in Peoria. Valencia shares her artistic journey, including the challenges she faced after losing her vision due to a stroke. Through her own perseverance and the healing power of art, Valencia began pouring herself into painting.

In this episode she chats about what it is like to paint without being able to see the canvas, the reception her work has received, and her dreams to help others. The public is invited to her studio opening on Saturday, June 22, at the Studios On Sheridan in the Sunbeam Building.
