TEN ARTISTS from across North Worcestershire will be opening their homes and studios over the bank holiday weekend.

The North Worcestershire Artist Collective and Clent Village Artists have joined forces to welcome visitors to their first event of its kind.

The North Worcestershire Art Trail is aimed at showcasing the artists’ varied and eclectic body of work and at hopefully inspiring others to take up the craft.

Across the six venues in Hagley, Clent, Belbroughton, Catshill and Alvechurch, the 10 participating artists will give visitors a unique behind-the-scenes insight into how their artwork is created at their homes and studios.

The artists are Jane Aston, Richard Coyle, Michelle Doidge, Kate Gallimore, Edwina Mackinnon, Julie Marcus, Juliet May, Celia Nancarrow, Suzanne Nicholl and Amanda Pardoe.

More than 300 original pieces will be on display at the event and each of the artists have their own individual technique and style so there will be something to suit all tastes.

The artists work with a variety of mediums including, oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, ink and digital art.

Visitors can meet the artists and discover what inspires them and the techniques they employ.

They will also be more than willing to share their love and enthusiasm for their own art as well as for the collective work of the two art groups. Original artwork, along with prints and cards, will be available to buy at each venue.

The North Worcestershire Art Trail came about because Worcestershire Open Studios, which has been running for a number of years and is always well attended and hugely popular with visitors, is taking a break this year.

The 10 artists have all enjoyed opening their homes in previous years and meeting their visitors and felt they wanted to do something similar this year.

This art trail will hopefully be the first of many as the artists know how popular these events are up and down the country.
