Bloom and Caroline Duffy are a match made in heaven!

The Dundalk-based artist and designer is renowned for her colourful floral paintings and prints so exhibiting at Bloom is the perfect move as garden lovers will get the chance to bring some flower-inspired pieces into their homes.

A native of Drogheda, Caroline fell in love with textiles and patterns while studying at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin. After graduating from NCAD in 2001, she spent 10 years creating surface and textile design for leading designers and textile houses in New York, Sydney and London.

Then she decided to start her own design and art business, back here in Ireland and moved to Dundalk with her husband. She now works from the studio at her home in Medebawn.

She began creating art for herself during the COVID-19 lockdown and soon garnered a big following on social media her her colourful pieces that are all inspired by nature – whether it’s a floral or abstract art. She she paints in a variety of techniques including watercolour, acrylics and mixed media on canvas or water -based paper. Her art has been sold all over the world, from Ireland, across Europe to Asia.

Her passion is to bring well-being to her customer by surrounding them with nature and flowers. Studies have shown that flowers can induce creative energy and positive vibes, ultimately making people feel better. Caroline creates to enrich people’s lives with more joy, happiness and inspiration. Redefining what it means to be a free-spirited strong person by surrounding them with the healing qualities of flowers through unique, uplifting art for mind, body and home.

At Bloom this year Caroline will be presenting her new new Irish floral art collection as colourful floral cushions, silk kimonos, dresses and stationary. Find her at stand CC6 in the DCCoI Craft Village from May 30 to June 3.
