Who is Kylie Minogue?

Kylie Minogue is one of the most successful chart stars of her generation, with a long and enviable pop career that has survived peaks, troughs and changing times. Kylie’s debut single, I Should Be So Lucky, produced by pop’s legendary “Hit Factory” Stock Aitken and Waterman, climbed to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart in February 1988, marking the first of Kylie’s 7 UK Number 1 singles and 10 UK Number 1 albums.

Following her early chart-topping successes of the late ’80s/’90s on Pete Waterman’s record label PWL, Kylie’s pop career enjoyed a glittering renaissance in the early 2000s through Parlophone Records when comeback single Spinning Around, with its accompanying gold hot pants-adorned video smashed straight in at Number 1. The warmly-received comeback kicked off a run of 14 consecutive UK Top 10 hits for Kylie – the longest unbroken run of her career to date – including the iconic Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

In November 2020, Kylie’s 15th studio album DISCO landed at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, and helped Australian singer Kylie make chart history as the first ever female artist – and second artist overall – to claim a UK Number 1 album in five consecutive decades. Check out all of Kylie Minogue’s songs and albums, and where they charted in the UK below.
