The newest up and coming artist hailing from Kansas City Trennae has found herself signing with Young, the recording label that manages other large artists such as FKA Twigs, Kamasi Washington, Sampha, The xx, and Two Shell

Born in London and then raised in both Jamaica and Kansas City, Treanne has found and developed a keen ear for both singing and songwriting. She found her start on SoundCloud with an authentic voice and a strong narrative flowing through each mellow rhythmic strum.

Her self-published songs found their way onto the desk of the A&R Becky Richardson at Young Recordings. The studio found themselves captivated after playing Treanne’s songs on the female-lead radio station Foundation.FM. The signing of Treanne to Young seems to be leading to a promising new future.

The first of her new singles “Please,” which released on February 15th, experiments with a new twist of the familiar warmth associated with Treanne. She leads us through her past relationships and how they have given her insight into navigating a romantic world which can feel cut-throat and ungrateful. Treanne, above all. comes out setting boundaries to protect her peace. Her melodies carry us as listeners with her through tooth and nail, all the while being paired perfectly with the resonance of a mellow guitar.

Sharing My Body” was more recently released on March 28th. Bold and powerful, Treanne compliments her first single by her grief of having physical relationships with a person that only uses her for her body. The complexity of situations like this shine through her lyrics, as she has allowed this person into her intimate space. The powerful piano ballad and Treanne’s sweet vocals are undoubtedly captivating. The pairing music video shares her vulnerability with us, which can’t help but make an emotional impression upon her audience.

The release of this single anticipates an exciting start for a new artist to receive her flowers. Both of these songs will share space on Treanne’s first EP under Young Records titled “20/20” which is set to come out May 10th and is available for pre-save.

It is safe to say both Kansas City and the rest of the music world have tuned in and are excited for what is to come from Treanne. This single and Treanne’s other songs can be found on most music streaming platforms
