Reddit user Emi_lgr shared a beauty hack she picked up while working with a foreign actress.

She was an English consultant for her because she needed help with her English lines in a movie.

She explained in the post how to do a “really cool trick” for a flawless face she learned from the actress’ makeup artist.

“She was on set for hours under hot lights without needing anything more than the lightest touch up,” she said.

The technique consists of pressing the powder puff with a bit of powder into the skin as hard as you can.

STEP-BY-STEP

The Redditor detailed the step-by-step process to lock in moisture and present a flawless face beat.

First, she took a fresh powder puff and then rubbed a small amount of powder between it.

She said “the most impactful part of the process was how she applied it.”

The actress pressed that powder firmly into her skin.

“And by pressed, I mean ‘pressed,’ hands behind the actress’ head and pressing it into the powder kind of pressed,” she added.

How to lift and define your face using makeup

In the last step, the Redditor said to “rinse and repeat” until the whole face is completly covered in the residue.

The actress used a setting powder from a Japanese brand called Ipsa, but you don’t have to use that specific product.

“I’ve tried it with a variety of powders and it works the same,” she said.

REAL RESULTS

A big component of successfully completing the look is finding a powder that suits your skin tone.

“The results are absolutely flawless, both on camera and off, without looking cakey at all,” the Reddit user said.

She said she probably wouldn’t recommend this for everyday use because it probably isn’t great for your skin to press into it that hard.

But felt it was a great beauty advice for special events.

Another Redditor gave it a try and was impressed with the results.

“I have super oil-prone skin, especially in summer, and like to use powder to reduce the oiliness and size of my pores. IT WORKS. I have very large pores on my nose and I cannot see them at all,” one wrote.

She also shared a useful hack to make the application process smoother.

“I wiped away the excess powder with a kabuki brush and it seriously looks like I have a filter on my face. I am beyond impressed!” she added.
