The Robson Gallery at Halliwell’s House in Selkirk will welcome local artist Alma Dowle’s ‘In My Element’ exhibition this month.

Running from Saturday, June 8 to Saturday, August 17, the exhibition will feature a series of landscapes and still life made using watercolours, inks and fine pen.

Alongside her paintings, Alma, who is a retired teacher, will also have a selection of ceramics on display.

She said: “I am looking forward to sharing my water colours of magical trees, landscapes and seascapes.

“Also flowers gathered from our garden in my favourite old jugs often found in charity shops.

“My ceramics will include hens which can be safely kept in the garden, as well as owls, candle sticks and other creations which I hope you will enjoy seeing as much as I did making them.”

Visitors to Halliwell House will also have the chance to meet the artist on Saturday, June 15 between 11am and 3pm.

Phoebe Stewart, assistant curator for Live Borders Museums and Galleries, added: “This exhibition is visually beautiful and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to curate this show and connect people to nature through Dowle’s artworks and ceramics.”

Halliwell’s House is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
