Popverse’s top stories of the day
Hey, Marvel comic book editors: Popverse video producer Ashley Victoria Robinson might have uncovered a new creative team for one of your top characters in the latest round of Artist’s Alley Asks, in which she approached the brave creative souls that are Gene Ha (Mae, Wonder Woman Historia), Cully Hamner (Blue Beetle, Black Lightning), Jarrett Melendez (Chef’s Kiss, My Pokemon Baking Book), Rachael Stott (Doctor Who, X-Men), Soo Lee (Carmilla, Star Wars: Tales from the Death Star), and Tim Seeley (Local Man, Hack/Slash) about their dream projects. Or, specifically, which projects would get them to drop everything if they were offered it right now.
Who is the creative team? What is the project? For that, you’ll have to watch the video above — but it would be remiss to not point out that Ashley also uncovered two different someones who should really be producing at least covers for a current DC comic book, and the next big video game adaptation that needs to happen. Really, she should be on commission from someone for putting all of this out into the world.
This is just the latest in a miniseries of comic book creator vox pops from C2E2 2024, running through April 28 at McCormick Place in Chicago; already Ashley has asked about Chicago musts, summer 2025 movie options, and what it takes to get through a convention. Think of it as a way to get to know your favorite creators just a little bit more, even if you couldn’t make it to the show itself, and keep your eyes out for the final installment very soon.
Prepare for the majesty that is Chicago’s C2E2 2024 with our growing number of pieces on what to expect April 26 – 28 – whether you’re coming with us to the McCormick Place, or you’re following along here at Popverse.
