FOR THE KIDS! Experience an arts market yourself – as the vendor! Kids in grade levels K-9 can get in on these artist markets all summer long.
After “overwhelmingly positive” feedback in its inaugural year last summer, the Kid’s Edition Artist Market is returning this season! Tangled Up In Hue, longtime downtown Eau Claire biz, is also opening up spaces in its regular weekend markets in efforts to give creative kiddos more space to vend.
This year’s Kid’s Edition Artist Market dates are June 8, July 13, and Aug. 10, all Saturdays, from 7:30am-1pm at Phoenix Park. Open to all children entering grades K-9, there is no fee to be part of the event, though Tangled Up In Hue is still looking for community sponsors to support the market.
For the Kid’s Edition markets, each registered child will receive a T-shirt for the event, and tents and tables will be provided for those who do not have their own. Like last year, activities for those attending the market included face painting, live music, and arts and crafts, which should return this year – although those activities are dependent on gaining event sponsorships.
“Last year, the feedback from all who participated in the event was overwhelmingly positive,” said Sarah Hammes-Murray, store manager at Tangled Up In Hue. “The parents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity for their children to experience an event like this because it allows (kids) to learn about the many different aspects of running a business such as customer service, making change, creating product, and more.”
Kids may register for one of the three Kid’s Edition Artist Market dates.
In addition, more opportunities for kids to table at local vendor markets with Tangled Up In Hue are up for grabs: The local biz has reserved two kids booths at each of its Saturday Artist Markets this year, running now through Oct. 12. Learn more about how to sign up for those markets online.
Coming this September, downtown Eau Claire’s Fall Festival will also host a Kid’s Market with limited vendor spots up for grabs. Fall Festival will be held from 10am-4pm on Sept. 14 on South Barstow Street, and a sign-up form and more information are available on DECI’s website.
