A Pokemon fan has recently recreated seven creatures from the franchise using Lilo and Stitch’s art style. Both Pokemon and Lilo and Stitch are beloved franchises that started decades ago, and combining them makes for a pretty entertaining result.
Released over 20 years ago, Lilo and Stitch is a classic Disney movie that quickly became a huge hit with children and adults from all over the world. By combining endearing characters with a unique art style, the movie would continue to be remembered as a classic many years after its release.
Pokemon Fan Designs Regional Oddish Variant With Unique Evolutions
A creative Pokemon fan designs an artwork that imagines a regional variant for Oddish and gives the creature brand-new evolutions.
Now, one fan called Troytheartboy decided to share their love for Pokemon and Lilo and Stitch by drawing seven creatures from Nintendo’s popular gaming franchise using the style of the classic Disney movie. Troytheartboy redesigned Latias, Latios, Pichu, Nidoran (male and female), Golduck, and Zorua using Stitch’s style, and the results range from uncanny to hilarious. While all of these Pokemon are easily recognizable as their original species, most of them look absolutely twisted with goofy Stitch-inspired faces, which gives them a distinct, alien feel. Aside from their faces, all Pokemon depicted by Troytheartboy also became rounder, and somewhat cuter, which helps to emulate the style of the movie.
Pokemon Drawn In Lilo and Stitch’s Style Fan Art
Troytheartboy is known in the Pokemon community for their previous works uniting Pokemon and Lilo and Stitch. Last year, the creator made “Lilo and Stitch experiments” of Sneasel (both with original and Hisui variant forms), Weavile, Heracross, Hypno, Mawile, Wigglytuff, and Poliwrath. The artworks followed essentially the same art style and looked just as amazing as the new ones.
Lilo and Stitch is not the only franchise that receives unofficial crossovers with Pokemon in fan art, though. Last year, a fan decided to turn a few Pokemon into iconic X-Men characters. At the time, the artist revealed interesting new designs, such as Psyduck as Professor X, Mewtwo as Magneto, Squirtle as Ice-Man, and Greninja as Gambit, for example. What made these designs stand out was how well they meshed the concepts of two different characters into a single one.
In any case, Lilo and Stitch remains a popular franchise, and it seems that it may become even more well-known soon. Disney recently announced a live-action adaptation of Lilo and Stitch, which is slated to be out in June 2024. It remains to be seen how the atmosphere of the franchise will translate to a live-action movie, and whether it will inspire even more people to create amazing Lilo and Stitch fan art.
