WACO, Texas (KWTX) – A local organization that aims to alleviate hunger through agriculture, education and research is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
World Hunger Relief will be hosting its annual farm to table fundraiser called A Night of Abundance at Milo All Day in November.
The nonprofit is a working 40-acre farm that sits at the core of the group’s mission to alleviate hunger around the world by actively participating in the promotion of a local food system that is just, equitable, and sustainable.
World Hunger also has many initiatives to help educate people about the importance of healthy living and why it’s important to know where food comes from.
Beth Ferguson is the interim executive director and said the fundraiser is a great time to celebrate.
“Abundance is one of my favorite nights of the year because it celebrates everything that makes World Hunger Relief so special; community, generosity and hope,” Ferguson said.
Cade Kegerreis is a well-known local artist who has painted over 25 murals in Waco, including one of his latest, which is in the entry way of George’s iconic restaurant on Speight.
He also painted a mural at Aggie Park.
For the first time at the annual event in its fourth year, Cade will be live painting art that will be auctioned at the end of the night.
“I’m excited to be able to lend my talents and passion to support such a worthy cause,” “Food and art are two things that really bring people together.”
Abundance will be held at Milo All Day at 7 p.m. on November 6.

World Hunger Relief was founded in 1976 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary this April.
