The parents of Laurent Schwarz, a Bavarian toddler hailed as a “pint-sized Picasso” whose artworks have fetched up to €15,000, have signed a deal with a German paintmaker that will sell a collection of colours under his name.
The two-year-old won a global following this year with his precocious talent for abstract painting. Since then the family has received a bid of €270,000 for his first work, The Fingers. Lisa Schwarz, his mother, said on Thursday that the painting had too great a sentimental value. “We’re not selling it,” she said.
