An artist who is attempting to paint every station on the London Underground network has already painted several local stations, including Chalfont & Latimer.
On Thursday, July 11, Darren Hayman posted a watercolour of Blackhorse Road station on social media site X. Since then, he has challenged himself to paint every Tube station in London. So far, Darren has painted nearly 40 stations.
Chalfont & Latimer, his 17th painting, was the first in which Darren decided to focus on a station’s interior.
Speaking to CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews, Darren explained that painting is a way for him to look after his wellbeing.
He said: “Painting is good for mental health and calms me down. I find it a very relaxing thing to do.
“I would advise everyone to paint, even if you don’t think you are very good.”
He considers one of his best pieces to be of the shelter in Newbury Park, but he added: “I’m still hoping to find my favourite one.”
Darren’s paintings are available to buy online from www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DarrenHaymanArt and you can also follow his journey on his X @darrenhayman.
