The Sigg Art Foundation is delighted to announce its participation in The Digital Art Mile 2024, an inaugural event set to transform Basel’s historic Rebgasse into a hub of digital art and innovation. Taking place from June 10-16, 2024, this event marks Basel’s first-ever digital art fair, bringing together leading artists, collectors, and enthusiasts from around the globe.
At The Digital Art Mile, the Sigg Art Foundation will present a showcase dedicated to artificial intelligence and digital medium, featuring the works of pioneering digital artists Grégory Chatonsky, Justin Aversano, Ben Elliot and Bernar Venet.
Grégory Chatonsky, a pioneer in the practice of AI in contemporary art, which he has
dubbed “Artificial Imagination,” will present a new version of “Terre Seconde”, installation previously exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in 2019. Generated from millions of data – images, texts and sounds – found on the internet, Terre Seconde is a scalable, modular structure that creates its own representation of the mineral planet, but not an identical reproduction of it.
Justin Aversano, renowned for his evocative photographic portraits, will present his acclaimed series “Twin Flames” alongside the “Doppelgänger” series, created in collaboration with digital artist Kim Asendorf. These works will be placed in dialogue to explore themes of identity and perception through glitchy video portraits, offering a unique reflection on the human experience in the digital age. Ben Elliot is an artist who addresses contemporary themes such as the impact of emerging technologies, the rise of influence marketing, and the formation of socioeconomic trends.

In his process, Elliot often incorporates leading companies, individuals, and objects to examine the concepts and values they embody. Elliot will present “Metaone”, an ambitious virtual reality project which aims to redefine our relationship to the creative space and be a vessel for forward-thinking cultural forms.
Ben Elliot developed “Metaone” with the ideas of a virtual paradise that represents a future world where history, nature, technology and science intertwine and enhance one another. “Metaone” is produced by VIVE Arts with the support of Esther Schipper Gallery. Presented by Sotheby’s and hosted by Sigg Art Foundation during ArtMeta, EVENT is a collection of 500 algorithmic artworks by renowned conceptual artist Bernar Venet.
