Artist Sherie Brinkley is showcasing her solo exhibition BEYOND THE WEATHER at Wingfield Barns.

Ms Brinkley’s paintings focus on themes such as the way the natural environment can make people feel insignificant, including pipe rock found on a Scottish plateau formed by tunnels made by worms that lived in shallow seas on the equator, some 500 million years ago.

“As I grew older I found myself wanting to escape from this manufactured world, finding solace in the wild places of Britain where the drama of my surroundings left me feeling insignificant, yet whole and instilled in me a sense of belonging.”

“Where there are no mountains, the weather connects us with this elemental force.”

“Moments when we forget ourselves and simply exist.”

The exhibition will run until November 14 at Wingfield Barns.
