ART collected by a Leamington businessman will be raising vital funds for the Myton Hospices.
Nigel Higgins, whose short battle with prostate cancer came to an end in April, grew up in Leamington and became a well-known and much-loved figure in the community.
He ran John Atkins Cycle Shop, which became a hub for cyclists across Warwickshire. Nigel supported riders of all ages and abilities, helping to grow a thriving community around the sport he loved.
Beyond cycling, Nigel was a man of many passions – including art, of which he amassed a diverse collection by
British and international artists.
And his personal art collection will form the heart of the Nigel Higgins Charity Art Auction taking place at The Fold on Spencer Street on December 9.
A donation from the sale of each work will go to Myton Hospice, which provided compassionate care to Nigel in his final days.
Auction organiser Kate Livingston said: ““This isn’t just an art auction, it’s a celebration of Nigel Higgins’ legacy, a testament to the power of community, and an opportunity to support Myton Hospice’s outstanding work.”
Admission is free (ticket registration required). Guests are encouraged to reserve in advance via the Eventbrite listing.
