NEENAH, Wis., (WFRV)- A Neenah artist is taking a creative approach to sharing her art with the community.
Signa Meyers practices painting every day. And when her art was piling up, she came up with a fresh idea. “My art was piling up and I didn’t know what to do with it all, and I was giving it away to people, and I was like, what can I do with this?”
So Meyers created a mini art studio called the Curbside Canvas, a spin-off of Little Free Libraries.
“What if I did that with my art?” said Meyers. Instead of books, the box outside her house holds free pieces of her art. Meyers said she started this to spread joy in the community.

“Art reaches all ages, little kids, middle-aged people, older people, so what about spreading joy through art?”
Since starting this project, Meyers has received positive reactions from the community. Diane Spence, a local woman, took her granddaughter to the Curbside Canvas.
“We got here and got out of the car, and we paged through all the art she has done,” said Spence. Spence and her granddaughter paint together. They said when they visited the Curbside Canvas, they were surprised.
“I was overwhelmed because usually people expect a donation for their art, and that is not the case here at all,” said Spence. The little studio has something for everyone. Spence took a flower with a monarch butterfly, and her granddaughter brought home a dinosaur painting.
On the back of each painting is a QR code for visitors to share on social media where they put their new art.
