More than 60 works in watercolour and oil by contemporary artists Lesley Fotherby, Jack Russell and Melissa Scott-Miller will go on display at the Town & Country: A Journey Through the Seasons exhibition.
The exhibition opens at Mottisfont on Saturday, January 24 and celebrates both countryside and city settings as they change throughout the year.

Visitor experience manager Sue Laws said: “We are delighted to be working again with the Chris Beetles Gallery who are providing these wonderful artworks and helping to arrange the exciting live painting sessions with the three artists.
“This is such a beautiful and vibrant collection of artworks by three very popular contemporary artists.
“It’s a perfect exhibition for this time of year, taking us on a journey through the seasons, it’s a reminder of the beauty of winter but with the promise that spring and summer aren’t very far behind.”
Each artist offers a distinct perspective on Britain’s landscapes.
Fotherby is renowned for her atmospheric, naturalistic watercolours, while former England cricketer Russell is known for his evocative countryside scenes.
Scott-Miller, a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy Summer Show, focuses on urban detail.
The show explores the contrasts and connections between rural and urban life throughout the changing year.
Works include winter fields, village cricket matches, London squares, and waterways.
Fotherby’s painting Horses in the Snow (Gressenhall, Norfolk) captures two powerful horses at a snow-covered gate, their harnesses gleaming against coats of chestnut and ivory.
Russell’s A Wicket Falls (The Grange, Leominster) depicts an English cricket match with players on a sunlit outfield and a half-timbered pavilion.
Scott-Miller’s Islington Back Garden with Two Cats in July 2023 is a detailed scene of midsummer city life, featuring lush greenery, terracotta pots, and the playful presence of two cats.
The artists will also visit Mottisfont for live painting demonstrations.
Town & Country: A Journey Through the Seasons will run from January 24 to April 12 in the top-floor gallery at Mottisfont.
The gallery is open from 11am to 3.30pm (until 4.30pm from February 14).
