LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The City of Henderson is inviting artists to apply for two unique public art projects at popular community spots.

At the Whitney Mesa BMX Track, the city is looking for sculpture artists or teams to create a large-scale outdoor installation made from more than 40 upcycled bicycles.

Finalists will receive a limited honorarium to design a piece that captures the energy and spirit of the BMX community.

In the Water Street District, muralists are encouraged to submit proposals for a large-scale mural at the Oceanside Apartments. Artists are encouraged to showcase the past, present, and future of downtown Henderson.

The winning artist or team will be provided with a fully furnished apartment on site for the duration of the project.
