Fresh off the celebration of the 100th Global Edition in London, The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art returns to Zerospace in Brooklyn from October 17-20, 2024.

The Fair highlights include:

● 120 Featured Artists: Original artworks for sale across multiple mediums. Check out the collection of artworks from all exhibiting artists.
● Guest Artist: Viral artist Danny Cortes brings his iconic miniature artworks to display in an exhibition entitled Tiny Streets, Big Stories: The Essence of NYC. With a prominent collector base of famous names and avid art lovers, his new pieces are likely to sell out quickly as his growing reputation continues to attract widespread attention and demand.
● Immersive Installations: The Other Art Fair is recreating an iconic slice of New York City by installing a life-size subway car at the fair, offering visitors a unique chance to step inside, pose, and immerse themselves in the gritty charm and vibrant energy of NYC’s underground. The installation will feature bold cheeky artworks by Poster Journal.
● Live Performances: The subway installation will also feature electrifying street dance performances by It’s Showtime NYC and FlexN dance pioneer Bones the Machine, from the screech of the trains to the rhythm of the dancers, you’ll be transported to the bustling tunnels where art and street life collide. The installation will host live drawing sessions where visitors can capture the dancers’ fluid movements in real time.
● New Futures Award: A self-taught sculptor and installation artist Mark Anthony Wilson Jr has been selected as the recipient of the October 2024 New Futures award. His work explores the intersection of military archives, religion (Christianity and Vodou), and African American history, drawing from his family’s distinguished background to create powerful personal and collective narratives.
● Celebration of Brooklyn’ s Art Scene with Arts Gowanus: Arts Gowanus are hosting their Open Studios Weekend on Sat 19th and Sun 20th bringing together these two momentous art events. Together, we are offering art lovers a unique opportunity to experience the depth and breadth of Brooklyn’s art scene.

This edition is a celebration of the city’s underground tastemakers, from visual artists and DJs to street dancers and collectives, they all converge to showcase their raw talent offering attendees the chance to connect with artists who are defining the cultural landscape of New York.

Other highlights of The Other Art Fair’ s program include:

● The Other Art Fair is partnering with the award-winning Balcones Distilling to celebrate the artistry of whisky-making and the connection between craftsmanship and creative possibility. Attendees at The Other Art Fair will have the opportunity to engage with members of the Balcones distillery team, enjoy their whisky cocktail creations, and try various Balcones expressions at their sample station.
● The Misfortuneteller will be bringing his unique brand of performance art to life, offering attendees the chance to have their misfortunes told. His darkly humorous prophecies has captivated people around the world. Now, fairgoers can experience this one-of-a-kind interaction firsthand, as The Misfortuneteller taps into the spirit world to craft personalized, hand-quilled prophecies, that are as intriguing as they are memorable, to take home and frame. Warning: fragile souls need not apply.
● DJ Sunny Cheeba gathers inspiration from the timeless grooves of Soul, Funk, and Disco, to the rhythmic magic of House, Hip-Hop, and R&B, to the diasporic beats of Salsa, Reggae, Baile Funk & Dembow. She will serve a live playlist of the city’s freshest sounds curating the vibes of the fair. .
● Heart of Dinner addresses food insecurity and loneliness among Asian American older adults in NYC’s under-resourced and underinvested communities. Founded at the onset of the pandemic, Heart of Dinner nourishes the body, heart, and soul of our Elders. Thoughtfully packed in beautifully hand illustrated bags, each care package includes culturally thoughtful foods and love notes that celebrate and honor our community. Their booth will feature a limited edition print by artist Erin Jang, all proceeds go back to supporting the organization.
● The Other Art Fair Community Partner Shop will feature works from Community Access Art Collective, Artshack Brooklyn, Visionary Projects and Lucky Risograph.
