Art-K is an all-ages art group that nurtures the creativity and builds the confidence of its members through artistic expression. Their weekly classes, workshops, events and parties all play a hand in providing members with the supportive environment they need to grow their skills as an artist while embracing their unique abilities.
The latest venture the group has made in showing their talents to the community is an art exhibition at Morden’s Café, High Street.
Running until January 4, 2026, the exhibition shows a large collection of artworks from students whose ages range from six to 70 years old. This diverse group comes through in the vast range of creativity and talent within the community in Barry.
As the second annual exhibition by art-K on High Street, this display of talent helps to foster a community that values self-discovery and support.
“This year marked the second annual art exhibition by the students of art-K on Barry High Street. The day was truly wonderful, with the venue bustling from beginning to end. The children delighted in sharing their artwork with friends and family and enjoying the delicious food and atmosphere provided by Morden’s Bakery on the High Street.
Local artist Ejiro Lane is a part of art-K. she said: “This year marked the second annual art exhibition by the students of art-K on Barry High Street. The day was truly wonderful, with the venue bustling from beginning to end.
“The children delighted in sharing their artwork with friends and family and enjoying the delicious food and atmosphere provided by Morden’s Bakery on the High Street.
“We hold these exhibitions to build the confidence of our wonderful young artists. Every piece on display is unique, reflecting each child’s individual journey and creative voice.
“There is a rich variety of media on show, from acrylics, and inks to watercolours, clay and pastels, highlighting the breadth of skills and experimentation explored by the children and adults.”
Art-K believes that exhibitions like this one show the importance of art education and self-expression.
Ms Lane continued: “The exhibition also highlights the significance and necessity of art education in a person’s development. Through art, we can all develop self-confidence, self-expression, persistence, patience, and emotional intelligence.
“Each artwork has taken weeks, and in some cases months, to create. The children have poured themselves into their work, and it shows. I am incredibly proud of what they have accomplished and cannot wait to see what they create next year.”
The exhibition will be on display at Morden’s Café on High Street until January 4, 2026.
