Gabriella Azzopardi will be opening up a rich universe of introspection, movement and memory in her upcoming art exhibition which will be available for viewing between 31st July and 2nd August.

Azzopardi is a Maltese artist that is known for her visionary and surreal style, often weaving together figures, architecture, nature, and emotional symbolism. She works across various media and her background in art has shaped a body of work that is both visually refined and emotionally resonant.

“To me, art offers no single path or definitive reading. Instead, it opens a door to memory, emotion and stillness. Those who will be visiting the exhibition, will notice that that door leads to a world unlike any other – quiet, symbolic, and softly surreal,” said Azzopardi in a statement.

Art lovers will have an opportunity to experience Azzopardi’s latest collection in an open studio viewing at a private villa on De Paule Avenue, Balzan, opposite the Corinthia Palace Hotel. Visitors can explore Azzopardi’s work at their own pace while enjoying a glass of wine in a welcoming environment.

The artist’s figures often appear ghostlike or semi-translucent, while her dreamscapes combine architecture, natural elements and psychological symbolism.

“Out Beyond the Stillness of Daybreak and Nightfall” is one of the pieces being displayed, which is a rich and vibrant painting straddling the line between fantasy and floral reverie.

A monochromatic seascape, “Voices of Majestic Thunder” will also be on display. This painting sees the sky as its true subject with ghostly faces emerging within the roiling clouds.

The exhibition will be conducted in a very informal way, without a formal opening and with a poster at the entrance to discreetly guide visitors inside.
