Caran d’Ache has released a Keith Haring range to celebrate the life of the artist

Writing instruments firm Caran d’Ache has unveiled its bold Caran d’Ache + Keith Haring collection as it proclaims the American creator’s ‘art for all’ message.

Each of the six Swiss-made pieces was inspired by Haring’s subway drawing designs. Three writing instruments feature, alongside two sets and a colouring pad.

Central to the range is one of the artist’s best-known pieces: two figures carrying a red heart in outstretched arms.

The collection launches ahead of the Christmas gifting season. It is supported by a pop-up in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail at Geneva Airport.

Located in the airport’s central place, the activation features a colouring wall so passengers can try the products in a fun environment.

Caran d’Ache + Keith Haring: The collection

First in the collection is a new iteration of the Caran d’Ache Ecridor pen, engraved with a Haring design.

Also present is the 849 ballpoint pen in two designs: a white satin finish with the red heart, and a matte black with another Haring motif. A notebook also accompanies the pens.

The first of the two sets is an assortment of 10 colour pencils and a black fibre-tipped pen. Another includes 40 colour pencils and 42 Neocolor II was pastels.

A colouring pad with 20 Haring designs is available alongside the sets.

“More than a simple tribute, the six new items in this Caran d’Ache + Keith Haring special edition embody  the American artist’s philosophy and his desire to democratise art and make it accessible to all,” the brand said in a statement.
