The artwork some people can create with a pencil and a piece of paper continues to amaze.

And one Antrim pupil in particular has been making quite a name for herself with her stunning work.

Charley Bell (17), who had already won the Ireland-wide Texaco Children’s Art Competition last year, has gone and won it again.

At this rate it won’t be long before she’s drawing comparisons with some of the finest artists in Ireland.

Charley has plenty of competition within her own family. Older sister Carrie has won numerous special merit awards in the same competition, whilst younger brother Rory has received a commendation. Needless to say, the Bell family’s kitchen fridge is likely a gallery in its own right.

A word too for 16-year-old Zara Craig, a pupil at Ballyclare High School, who was also among the winners. She, too, is no stranger to success having picked up awards in the prestigious competition before.

Both seem to have future success in the art world at their talented fingertips.
