Marley Hooten and Eira Elliott work on their paintings of rabbits on Thursday during a workshop led by 2013 Santa Cruz County Artist of the Year Susana Arias at the Live Oak Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County. The paintings will be submitted to the student art contest that is part of the 3rd Annual Live Oak Jack Rabbit event happening on April 14 at Shoreline Middle School. Twelve winning Live Oak School District student artists will receive award certificates from the district as well as gift cards from Palace Art & Office Supply. The Jack Rabbit event is coordinated by the nonprofit Live Oak Education Foundation and all funds raised provide school-based arts programs for Live Oak students.
