A graduate from the Sorbonne ( ‘agrégation’ and MA in English literature) and post-graduate from Trinity College, Cambridge (Knox Scholarship), Rodolphe Fonty also studied dramatic art, singing and ballet in various French conservatoires. He was a pupil of Irène Sicot from the Opéra de Paris. While still teaching English and giving lectures, he has been a bilingual ( French/ English) actor and stage director since 2016. He is also a voice artist for Dubbing Brothers, Paris. Moreover Rodolphe is a translator ( he translated academic articles for O.U.P. and a theatre play by Louis Chamack). He created a bilingual show of Shakespeare sonnets in 2021 for which he collaborated with British artist Iain Will. He is interested in exploring and developing the links between the visual and the performing arts. This season Rodolphe has been performing in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Henry VIII and Molière’s Médecin Volant and many other plays. He regularly gives poetry readings. Among his immediate projects are a Shakespeare Cabaret show (as a director and writer) and Molière’s Le Misanthrope (as an actor)… Living in Paris and London, Rodolphe Fonty has a passion for the arts and likes sharing his Franco-British culture with audiences.
