Creative youngsters produced masterpieces using sand during art sessions at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness.

The sessions, run by Inverness company FunkyDory Kidz, were the latest in a summer programme of free activities at the centre.

The youngsters were encouraged to express themselves and create their own colourful artwork by using a variety of vibrant sands to bring their designs to life.

Hawaii comes to the Highlands at beach party in Eastgate Shopping Centre

The centre’s summer programme, which runs until September 2, features the return of the Nevis Kids Club which provides, creative and learning opportunities every Tuesday and Wednesday while Jungle Soft Play will be open daily from 10 am to 5pm.

An indoor beach has also been created where young ones can build sandcastles and enjoy various beach games and themed activities

Forthcoming activities include acrobatic arts with TFX on Tuesday August 13 from 11am to 3pm
This workshop is aimed at all skill levels and includes acrobatic arts skills and techniques from basic rolls and handstands to more advanced tricks and balances.

There will also be a Disney Rave Day with TFX on Wednesday August 14 from 11am to 3pm.

It includes a Disney-themed dance party with colourful glow sticks provided for all participants, interactive games and activities.

Party-goers are invited to dress as their favourite Disney character and add to the atmosphere.

All sessions are free and last about 30 minutes. No booking is necessary, as activities run on a first come basis. Children must be accompanied.
