Photos & Video: KNACK Camp Art Showcase

The 2025 KNACK Summer Camp hosted an art showcase, where families explored the creative work of young artists and learned more about the program.

Sarai Hines told Bernews, “Knack Camp is an art camp where young artists get to explore their creativity through various forms of art as we pair with exciting artists to expand their skills. This year we paired again with Rayni Maybury to teach students tufting.

“Our little artists explored the topic of ‘pattern’ as we discussed where we can find pattern and how it is used in the world. As we explored through patterns in nature and collage, our little artists were then able to create their own idea for an art piece.

“Each year I meet with the little artists one on one to discuss what skills they want to improve on this year. Next students created their design ideas linking to pattern and their skill to improve on to make a piece of their own.

“One other main focus was talking about creativity, here is what our little artist had to say:

“It is important to be creative because if you don’t be creative then everyone will have the same idea and it will be boring.” – Inara
“Being creative is important because without creativity life would be very boring. Creativity brings color in your life, you can be creative with anything.”
“To me, creative means bring yourself something, for example the way you make music could be creative.” – Chantori
“Being creative to me is wearing what I want like bright clothing.” – Gabriella
“What creativity means to me is when I have something to do I can do it this way or that way and how I think, places, and art.” – Zaiden
“What it means to me is how you think because everyone thinks in different ways.” – Matteo

She added, “In the end it is always lovely to see what our little artists are able to push through and create! All of their hard work was truly appreciated as family and friends came to their Art Showcase on Friday afternoon. Amazing work and we appreciate all the parents for their support. KNACK wants to thank all of its biggest supporters as without you this year would not have been possible!”
