July 2012: There are several Mass MoCA exhibition pieces in public spaces — the soundscape “Harmonic Bridge” under the Hadley Overpass and Big Bling at the intersection of Main and Marshall streets — but perhaps the one used most frequently by the public is Victoria Palermo’s “Bus Stand.”
A ticket-cutting ceremony was held as part of the 2012 DownStreet Art kickoff, which celebrated 15 new gallery spaces, part of 31 downtown art destinations and the reveal of four public murals. Palermo’s “Bus Stand” was a collaboration of Mass MoCA, Kidspace, North Adams, DownStreet Art and MCLA’s Berkshire Cultural Resource Center.
