Before we get on with the latest Grand Theft Auto Online news, something special happened earlier this week. For a brief while, Rockstar Games updated their official webpage with mentions of four GTA VI screenshots.
Apparently, they would contain screenshots from the game and even the cover art. This phenomenon would be a world first, given that all we saw from Grand Theft Auto VI was the 1:30-minute trailer launched on December 5, 2023.
Since then, the trailer featuring Tom Petty’s “Love is a Long Road” has gathered 189,648,175 views on YouTube. It’s currently the second most watched video game trailer of all time, in front of Minecraft (169,700,553 views, December 6, 2011), but behind Subway Surfers (361,573,941 views, September 18, 2012).
GTA VI is part of the social norm so much that in 10 years, the first trailer will surely take the number one spot on the podium. Those 189+ million views will seem like rookie numbers when the second trailer hits because, most certainly, people will rewatch the initial one as well.
That December, Rockstar Games released the wallpaper-worthy image of Lucia and Jason sitting on their Ford Ranchero-inspired vehicle. People rightfully assumed it was the key artwork or cover image on the physical copies and digital storefronts. It’s all theory at this point, but let’s hope the upcoming screenshots are completely new and not taken from scenes we’ve watched and rewatched 100 times from the trailer.
GTA VI fans literally have bots that scan the Rockstar website every few minutes, so as soon as something moves, the Internet will explode yet again with new info, theories, interpretations, deep dives, and so on. In the meantime, do you know what L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption, RDR: Undead Nightmare, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Liberty City Stories, and Chinatown Wars have in common?
Well, if you join the $8 monthly GTA+ subscription service, you get them at no additional cost. Rockstar Games has done a decent job of enticing players to become members for the past few months. However, the best news is that Bully (2006), one of their much-adored titles, is about to hit the subscription service this year, although we don’t have an official date.
GTA Online is up and running, with new content or activities introduced each week. This time, it’s all about the rich superyacht life. To get one for yourself, visit the DockTease site and grab the Galaxy Super Yacht at 30% off. Completing missions and activities will provide players up to three times the GTA$ and XP. GTA+ members earn four times the usual amount.
BREAKING: Rockstar Games have seemingly added numerous mentions of GTA 6 to their API!
