Renowned and young artists have portrayed their surroundings and nature in a group exhibition under way at the Safiuddin Shilpalay at Dhanmondi in the capital.
The 15-day exhibition titled ‘Planography Exhibition’ has been organised by Safiuddin Printmaking Studio marking the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Safiuddin Ahmed.
It is featuring more than a hundred lithography prints created by 41 artists, including Hamiduzzaman Khan, Ivy Zaman, Md Muslim Mia, Anisuzzaman, Sheikh Mohammad Rokonuzzaman, Fakhrul Islam Mazumder Shakil and others during an eight-day printmaking workshop conducted by internationally acclaimed artist-art educator Sheikh Mohammad Rokonuzzaman.
The artworks depict diverse subjects including the beauty of nature, landscapes, birds, fish, flowers, children, still life and others.
Jyotsna Mahbuba’s artwork titled ‘Belashese’ shows a woman calling to two ducks swimming in a lake before sunset.
Nazmun Nhar Akanda’s artwork titled ‘Feeling Love’ shows a boy playing with his pet bird.
Bristy Sultana’s artwork titled ‘Kushum’ shows a few sunflowers about to bloom.
Onti Khatun’s artwork titled ‘Ashar Oboshan’ shows boats in a river.
Md Labu Haque’s artwork titled ‘Motion’ shows a girl dancing.
Besides, Jukta Saha, Bijoy Chandra Shill, Jubayer Ahmed, Arifa Jahan Swarna, Tahsin Noor Mittrita, Nilanjana Das, Puja Biswas, Sahida Akter, Manashi Banik, Farhana Yesmin, Tanjum Nahar Porna, Shakil Mridha, Nafia Tabassum, Abu-Al-Naeem, Faria Sultana Kanta, Nadia Jahan Nira, Priyanti Dhali, Md Al Amin Joy, Md Forid Hossan, Abdul Halim, , Avijit Mondol, Mohammd Asadurjaman Aslam Molla, Seam Islam, Zeba Faria Miti, Fahmida Akter, SM Upama Shirin, Riturupa Talukder Sathi, Sharmin Akter Lina, Subrata Basak and others have participated in the exhibition.
The exhibition will end on June 25.
