The $60,000 collection of carvings and jewellery was taken April 2 after two suspects entered the home through an unlocked door

Saanich police have released more photos of an Indigenous art collection that was stolen from a Gordon Head home in early April.

The $60,000 collection of carvings and jewellery was taken April 2 after two suspects entered the home through an unlocked door.

Police issued a statement on April 18 asking the public to be on the lookout for the items, including carvings by First Nations artist Calvin Morberg and an Inuit carving of a women’s face estimated to be at least 60 years old.

Police expect the items might show up on social-media marketplaces or in galleries.

Saanich police said its major crimes unit continues to investigate the theft and asks for anyone with information to call police at 250-475-4321 or email [email protected].
